Is it just me or does Presidents’ Day exist solely for lame used car & furniture store sales? How patriotic.
One Year Ago Today
I visited Rochester for the weekend, and I meant it to be the last visit before moving to California but that wasn’t the case. I was really in a social mood which rarely happens, but I wanted to spend time with my college friends for as much as I could that weekend. I didn’t care if we were just sitting and talking or went someplace and did something, but I just wanted to hang out.
My Day
I got up around 4 today like I figured I would, and I didn’t think I’d have enough awake time to get tired before I went to bed. I finally got caught up on my late night shows, and I watched a few episodes of Malcolm. I also played some Zelda, and I finally got unstuck. For a couple days I’ve just been going back and forth to the few towns I’ve been to already, trying to figure out how to continue. I got some instructions in the game, but I couldn’t figure out how to do whatever it was I was supposed to do. I had to look it up online which always feels wrong since it’s a kid’s game.
Then I watched The Ides of March, which I thought looked interesting but I didn’t particularly want to see it when it came out. I decided to check it out, and it was a pretty interesting movie. Again, much like Moneyball it had a premise (in this case politics) that I don’t really care for, but it held my interest. It had a couple twists and turns, and I liked it.
I got done with the movie just in time to see SNL, which was hosted by Maya Rudolph who was a former cast member. It was pretty good, and had Amy Poehler in a few sketches as well as Justin Timberlake. Now I’m going to try to go to sleep around 2, although I expect it’ll take an hour or more before I actually fall asleep. Thanks for reading, and “An ax in the head? Do you think that’s funny? If you had a real ax in your head, you wouldn’t be laughing. Except if you had an involuntary muscle spasm. Does that sound like a good time?”
