I’m trying to take full advantage of McDonald’s Shamrock Shake. The cost is adding up, but man they’re good.

Dreams

Just before I went to bed last night I finally remembered my dreams from yesterday.  I was in a park which had TVs hung up on trees all over.  I put in a DVD to watch, and then when I tried to eject the disc it wouldn’t come out.  The remote didn’t seem to have an eject button, and there wasn’t anything on the DVD player to eject it either.

Then I was at my step-dad’s church with my dad and some others, and we were there for something and then got “stuck” there for the whole service.  I had a piece of gum that I had to get rid of because we were going to do communion soon, and I had to peel it off of the side of the pew for some reason.

One Year Ago Today

I’ll just talk about what happened two years ago today, which was the Super Bowl.  Some of my Crusade friends needed a place to watch the game, so we had a big party at our apartment.  We had about 15 people show up to watch, and we arranged our couches and chairs around to accommodate everyone as best we could.  Everyone brought some food, and it was a really fun time.  That had to be the best Super Bowl night I’ve ever had because I think I only watched it with other people the year before at Jamey’s house.

Thoughts

I’ve said that no matter how many times I watch through Seinfeld, I still pick up on some new things.  This time I’ve noticed something about two small actors that I hadn’t before.  In the Season 3 episode The Limo, the actor who plays the male Neo-Nazi is Peter Krause who plays Adam Braverman in Parenthood.  And in the Season 4 episode The Trip, I figured out that the white cop that takes Jerry and George around Los Angeles is the same actor who later plays Elaine’s boyfriend Jake in a few episodes.  It was hard to notice both of them since they were in very different roles, but I’m glad I figured it out.

My Day

My dad called and woke me up around 12:30, and I totally forgot he calls me around that time every Tuesday so I was really caught off guard.  But it was good because it got me up, and since the guys were done working on the bathroom for the day I had no problem getting into the shower.  I had some time to watch some shows before getting things going.

My new watch came in the mail today, and I was excited but nervous to check it out.  I saw immediately that it was much less shiny than I thought (in fact, it was a very dull blue and not shiny at all), and that made me upset.  I know that since I just saw it online I couldn’t take it all as truth, but it seems much less shiny than I ever imagined.  The band is alright, but just needs a couple links taken out like I figured since I have very small wrists.  But the clasp is kind of bad, so overall I’m not as thrilled with it as I hoped I would be.  I knew it wouldn’t be as great as my expensive Seiko was, but I hoped it would be a reasonable cheap alternative.  So I think I’ll get the links taken out and wear it around, but all the while I’ll be looking for a nicer watch.  This way I’ll have the current one as a backup, and when I’m in situations where I’m afraid the expensive watch could get lost/scratched/stolen I’ll wear the other one.

I went over to the American Legion in Mohawk because I had an appointment to give blood, and the lady at the table said I would be the last one they could take.  Then she went on about how they may or may not get to me, so I said that since I have to leave for work in an hour anyway I’d just leave.  That worked out best because they didn’t have to try and squeeze me in and I got to chill some more before work.  I really didn’t think I’d actually work tonight, so I planned to just go to the mall and get my watch fitted.  But I never got called, and then I realized that I should have left early to get it taken care of before work in case I did have to work.  That way if I didn’t have to work then I’d just be back home earlier so it’d all work out.  So now I’ll have to wait until maybe Friday before I work.

The poker room wasn’t that busy, but had like 6 tables so enough to let me work.  I got stiffed on my first hand and a few throughout the night, but I got four redbirds so those helped out a lot.  During the last hand of my last down I flopped someone a Royal Flush, and he didn’t tip me anything.  The pot wasn’t too big, but he knew he was getting $100 so it was really a jerk move.  He did have a dollar chip out in front of him afterward, but since it was my last hand and it wasn’t close to me at all I didn’t take it.  I have to assume that it wasn’t meant for me because I don’t understand how he could not notice he has a random chip out in front of him.  I went home after that table, and I made $89 which is the exact same amount I made on Sunday, in the same number of hours and cash game downs.  Those were two very different stories because Sunday was all $1 tips, but tonight was some stiffs and some redbirds.  In both case I was overall happy with it.

On my way back home I stopped at McDonald’s in Utica for an SS (Shamrock Shake), and I figured since I didn’t have much of a dinner I got a McChicken and a McDouble since I never eat from them anymore.  It was pretty good.  Then I watched Cool Hand Luke, and it was a pretty good movie.  It had a few good quotes, and the stuff about poker was pretty cool.  Then more Seinfeld, and now bed at 5am.  Thanks for reading, and “Sometime nothin’ can be a real cool hand.”
