I had a rare busy day, but now I can do nothing for the next three days before I work again. Lots of sleep.
One Year Ago Today
I learned that it’s “piquing someone’s interest” and not “peaking.” That’s one more in a long list of my revelations. While shoveling at the church a man walking by said good morning to me, and then said, “We’re just kidding ourselves. Is it really good?” I thought that was kind of funny because although he did start with the customary pleasantries, he then negated it. I knew he was referring to the snow which makes the day not good, and I agreed with him.
My Day
I had to get up at noon today because I had a dentist appointment, and I had to go without a shower which made it even worse. The cleaning went fine, and my insurance covered all but almost $20 so it’s finally starting to pay off. Then I decided to clean the church, which goes against my usual laziness. I finished listening through my Newsboys albums, and I got done in two hours which is at least a half hour quicker than usual.
Then I went to Wal Mart to get a few things, and I was in and out pretty quickly. So I was ahead of my tight schedule, and I got Taco Bell for dinner as a spontaneous decision. I ate it quickly at home, then took a quick shower before poker. I just got dressed and got downstairs before the first person came, so it was a really tight schedule but I made it.
We didn’t get too many players tonight, and not all that much money altogether. I started a little rocky and then got down to half my buy-in, but I doubled-up just a few hands later. After that I just kept going up and up, but I did get a lot of big hands. I had pocket Aces five times which is obviously way more than my allotment. I won with them each time, but only one or maybe two of them were big pots. But I think I played well and didn’t lose too much value in the long-run. I ended up winning $500 profit (for $600 total), which is the most I’ve made at live poker in my life. It’s kind of funny because this is a small game, and I didn’t even make this much at $1-$2 which is four times higher. I ended up with 60% of the total money in play, so that makes me feel good. We played late, and now I’m going to bed around 6:30am. Thanks for reading, and “Take care, now.”
