We finally got our shower back. This has been a very long, disgusting, and very disorienting several days.

Dreams

I had a dream where I was in a locker room, which is oddly a common dream setting despite my infrequency of being in them in real life.  I was going to a gym a couple times a week, and I realized that I could be using the showers there since I can’t shower at home.  So I walked around looking for a spot with few or no people but I couldn’t find any.  I walked all around until I realized I was in the women’s section, but ironically that was clear of any girls (that would have made for a much different dream).  Then when I got back to the men’s side I saw some women there, so I was all thrown off.  It’s obvious this dream was a reference to how I couldn’t shower in real life.

One Year Ago Today

The big thing (in a sense) was that I bought staples a year before, and of the 5,000 I bought I used maybe 50 of them.  I think I’ve used maybe 5 of them this past year, so I should really never need to buy them again at this rate.  That’s pretty exciting to me.

My Day

I woke up at 1pm and talked with my dad, and then I went to clean the church.  It was a breeze again, and I’m almost done with listening to all of my Newsboys albums.  I have three albums left so next week I’ll be through them all.  When I got back home my step-dad told me that the shower isn’t all done but it is workable, so I got to take a shower.  It was glorious, both because it was a new and improved shower and because it was the first in 5.5 days.  Trust me, I know how gross that is.

My new Bank of America debit cards came in the mail today, so I activated those.  It’s nice to have some backup for my cash now, although I don’t keep much in that account at all.  So I’m still waiting on my First Source card because that’s for my primary account.  The good thing about having these cards back is that I used one for Netflix, so now I can get some DVDs again and start watching those shows on my computer.

So there aren’t any new late night shows this week, or any shows that I watch except for the NBC ones on Thursday.  So that leaves me with a lot of free time to watch the new shows.  I watched the first season of Workaholics per Brian’s recommendation, and it’s a really funny show.  I’d say it’s similar to It’s Always Sunny in that the characters are stupid, but they’re a little younger and more into weed than just drinking.  But they get into crazy stuff so that’s where the comparison comes in.  Then I started watching Malcolm in the Middle (henceforth shortened to ‘Malcolm’), which is also a really funny show.  Since I already started watching Seinfeld I’ve decided to watch Malcolm whenever I want to watch a show, but save Seinfeld for the last few episodes of the night before bed.

Just now I remembered that I planned to continue reading The Two Towers, and I could have been doing that for at least some of the 7 hours I spent watching these shows.  Maybe I’ll do that during the next few days since I have no plans until the weekend.  And now I’m going to bed, and hopefully the shower will still be functional when I get up tomorrow.  I have some thoughts from the lack of a shower, but I’ll save those for another time.  Thanks for reading, and “Those scientists better check their hypotenuses dude.”
