I beasted thru season 8 of Curb Your Enthusiasm today. It’s a shame I’ll have to wait forever for new ones.

One Year Ago Today

The Celtics played the Wizards which is coincidental because they played each other today too.  The Wizards won last time though but lost today.

My Day

I started snoozing the alarm on my clock which I’ve been using since I don’t have a cell phone alarm.  The first day I shut it off and got right up, then the next day I snoozed it once, and then today I snoozed it a couple times and then set it for an hour later.  This is what always happens when I get a new alarm:  First I treat it with respect and get right up, but eventually I basically ignore it.  I still got up at 1pm though so it was fine.

I had nothing to do before work, so I started watching season 8 of Curb Your Enthusiasm.  I don’t have that season on my computer like the rest, and because it’s not on DVD yet I found a site online to watch it on.  That took some time because I had to weed through crappy links to get a good one, and my computer has been running slow so it was difficult to get through the first couple.

Then I went to work with Brian, and when we got to the poker room there were only five games going and the tournament was looking to be very small.  There was a $2-$4 limit table (with the most annoying player ever), three $1-$2 tables, and one $2-$5 table.  If it wasn’t for the $2-$5 we probably would have just left right then.  We both drew tournament tables (no surprise) and by the time we finished that down two tables broke including the $2-$5.  So we decided to just sign the early-out sheet and leave, and once a tournament table went down they sent us home.  So we worked one hour today and only made money for the tournament down and $4.75 an hour we make, so it was basically nothing.  But it wouldn’t have been worth staying anyway because we would have gotten maybe two cash game downs, so we were looking at $30 tops since those tables looked pretty bad tip-wise.

So we left at 8pm and decided to get Taco Bell, and since it was early (not like 1 or 2am like usual) we ate inside when we stopped at the Utica one.  It looks like the Yorkville one I used to frequent with my dad and brother before karate years ago, and we got the box that had basically a #9 with that burrito with the Fritos in it.  It was just another 20 cents to get that instead of the #9 and we got that burrito with it so it was great.  I have a new thing to order now.  It was delicious and made my night.

To add some filler to this post I’ll share something that I would have definitely included in the past, but lately I’ve been leaving out things like this.  We saw someone leave as we walked into Taco Bell, and there wasn’t anyone else there until a few minutes before we left.  Four people walked in who looked in the 16-18 age range, and three of them were girls and one guy.  None of them were white, and the dude looked some kind of Hispanic (but only like half), one girl looked the same, one like half-black girl (maybe, I’m not sure), and one black girl.  The black girls were kind of cute, especially the last one I mentioned.

Anyway, I’ve mentioned before how my brain usually assumes that any girl who is a few years younger than me is interested in me.  It’s probably the stupidest thing that my brain does because it goes against every other notion I have.  Any other age and I always assume that they don’t like me, so there’s really no explanation for it.  Mostly because of that, and the fact that we were the only groups in the whole place, I assumed they’d sit on the other side of the restaurant.  So I made a dollar bet with Brian without telling him, that if they sat on our half he’d win.  Sure enough they did, and I gave him a dollar.  I figured that socially they’d prefer to have their own space, so it was kind of perplexing.  But it goes with the theory that they were interested in me/us so maybe that’s why they wanted to sit closer.

When I got back home we watched the end of the football game, and I’m happy the Giants are going to the Super Bowl.  I’ll root for them partly because they’re the only New York team left, but mostly I’m rooting against the New England (i.e. Boston) Patriots.  This will be the first Super Bowl I’ve watched that I cared which team wins, but it’ll also be the first one that I’ve had to work during so I won’t be able to enjoy it and the commercials.  After the game I watched the rest of Curb, and I blasted through the rest of the season so I’m all done in just this one day.  It’s sad that I’ll have to wait for another season if there will be one.  Now I’m going to bed a bit before 5am, and if all goes to plan I’ll have my new phone up and running tomorrow.  Thanks for reading, and “I always think of nice things, but I never act on them.  What is that?”
